Issue: Whatsapp Desktop stucked in fullscreen mode
Update from Eugene from within the comments section: “What worked for me was to just press F11. I was then able to move and resize the window again.”
I was not able to resize the window of the WhatsApp Desktop application and even if i have uninstalled the app and install it back, the fullscreen persisted.
You can solve this by doing the following:
– Close Whatsapp and open the following file with notepad:
“C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\WhatsApp\settings.json”
– Change “isFullScreen”:true to “isFullScreen”:false
– When you now start Whatsapp it seems still maximized, but you can resize it again.
Hint: The workaround did not work for the WhatsApp Desktop version download via Microsoft store.

Thank you. This resolved same issue I was having.
Ha funcionado perfectamnte.

is there a version of this workaround that works on a mac?
There are good chances that you will find the same ‘settings.json’ file somewhere in you home directory.
Try to find it, open it with a text-editor and have a look at it if you find the same settings in there.
Gracias, solucionado

This did not work for me, my settings file shows false and yet the window is still maximized…..
